Cosmoverse 2025: Sovereign Chains on Bare Metal

Cosmoverse, the conference of the Cosmos ecosystem, came to Le Méridien Lav in Split from 30 October to 1 November 2025, and velia.net was there. Cosmos is the place where every application can be its own chain, with its own validator set.

That promise has a hardware side. A chain that governs itself but runs on a host it shares with strangers is sovereign on paper. We went to Split to talk with the validators and teams who feel that gap.

Networking and Innovation

A conference does what a call cannot: it puts the team with the problem and the people with the hardware at the same table. These were the conversations we went to Split to have.

  • Validator and relayer hardware for operators who run many chains from one fleet.
  • What one physical machine with no other customer on it changes for consistency.
  • Spreading a validator set across Frankfurt, Strasbourg, New York, Miami, St. Louis and Singapore under one operator.
  • Monthly terms and zero setup fee for operators who add and retire chains through the year.

Key Points of our Attendance

Our focus at Cosmoverse stayed on four themes:

  • The worst minute matters more than the average one.
  • No hypervisor between the workload and the metal.
  • No shared tenancy, so nobody else's workload sits next to yours.
  • A named city on the contract, not a region in a console.
