Devconnect 2025: Ethereum Nodes on Bare Metal

Devconnect Argentina, the Ethereum Foundation's week for builders, came to La Rural in Buenos Aires from 17 to 22 November 2025, and velia.net was there. It followed Staking Summit in the same city, so we stayed.

Ethereum treats client diversity as a safety goal. Hardware is the same goal one layer down: a network whose nodes share a handful of hosts shares their outages. We went to Devconnect to talk about the machine under the node.

Networking and Innovation

A conference does what a call cannot: it puts the team with the problem and the people with the hardware at the same table. These were the conversations we went to Buenos Aires to have.

  • Validator, RPC and archive node hardware, sized for sustained disk and network load.
  • What one physical machine with no other customer on it changes for consistency.
  • Running nodes across Frankfurt, Strasbourg, New York, Miami, St. Louis and Singapore under one operator.
  • Monthly terms and zero setup fee for teams that scale node fleets up and down.

Key Points of our Attendance

Our focus at Devconnect stayed on four themes:

  • The worst minute matters more than the average one.
  • No hypervisor between the workload and the metal.
  • No shared tenancy, so nobody else's workload sits next to yours.
  • A named city on the contract, not a region in a console.
