EthCC Cannes 2026: Ethereum Nodes on Bare Metal

EthCC[9], the Ethereum Community Conference, ran at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes from 30 March to 2 April 2026, and velia.net was there. It is the European week where the people who write the clients and the people who run them share one building.

We went for one conversation. A network that calls itself decentralised is only as independent as the hardware under it, and a node on a shared host inherits its neighbours' bad days.

Networking and Innovation

A conference week does what a call cannot: it puts the operator with the problem and the people with the hardware at the same table. These were the conversations we went to Cannes to have.

  • Validator, RPC and archive node hardware, sized for sustained disk and network load.
  • What one physical machine with no other customer on it changes for consistency.
  • Running nodes across Frankfurt, Strasbourg, New York, Miami, St. Louis and Singapore under one operator.
  • Monthly terms and zero setup fee for teams that scale node fleets up and down.

Key Points of our Attendance

Our focus at EthCC stayed on four themes:

  • The worst minute matters more than the average one.
  • No hypervisor between the workload and the metal.
  • No shared tenancy, so nobody else's workload sits next to yours.
  • A named city on the contract, not a region in a console.
