velia.net at DMEXCO 2026 in Cologne

On 23 and 24 September 2026, DMEXCO takes over Koelnmesse in Cologne. velia.net will be there. Dates, the team on site and how to meet us are on our DMEXCO 2026 event page.

The motto this year is Scaling Intelligence. DMEXCO's own framing is a move "away from experimentation and toward tangible operational impact", and the release announcing it cites a PwC survey in which 12 percent of companies worldwide report both higher revenue and lower costs from AI. In Germany the figure DMEXCO quotes is 2 percent.

That gap is the whole conversation. A pilot runs anywhere. Production has to run somewhere specific, at a cost somebody signs off, in a country somebody's legal team named.

Why an infrastructure company is at a marketing event.

Because the marketing stack stopped being software a while ago.

A bidding platform is a distributed system with a deadline measured in milliseconds. A customer data platform is a database problem. A creative team running generative models is a compute problem wearing a marketing budget. None of that shows up in a campaign report, and all of it decides whether the campaign report is any good.

The teams at DMEXCO are being asked to scale AI into production this year. Scaling is the part where the infrastructure stops being invisible.

What breaks when a pilot becomes production.

Three things, in our experience, and they arrive in this order.

The bill gets a closer look. Elastic pricing is a good fit for a workload that is genuinely elastic. Inference that runs continuously is not elastic, it is constant, and it is worth checking how constant workloads behave on elastic pricing. The finance conversation usually arrives before the performance one.

Consistency starts mattering more than peak speed. A pilot is judged on whether it worked. Production is judged on whether it works every time. On a shared host, your worst moment belongs to somebody else's workload, and you will not be told which one.

Somebody asks where the data actually is. Not the region label in a console. The building, the country, and the legal regime attached to it. In the German market this question arrives early and it is rarely negotiable.

What ad tech and martech teams ask us about infrastructure.

Who else is on this machine. On a virtualised host the honest answer is that you do not fully know. A dedicated server has one customer on it, and that is a sentence that stays true in a contract.

Where is it, in a country I can name. Frankfurt is a location, not a region name. For a German advertiser answering a data protection question, that difference is the answer.

What does it cost when nothing unusual happens. A machine rented by the month has one number attached to it.

What happens when the hardware fails. It will. The useful question is who is awake and what they are able to do about it.

Where velia.net runs.

velia.net operates dedicated servers in six locations: Frankfurt, Strasbourg, New York, Miami, St. Louis, and Singapore. Three continents, three legal regimes, one operator.

For an advertising or marketing platform, that spread is not a map on a slide. Serving European users from European machines is a latency decision and a jurisdiction decision at the same time, and those two rarely line up as neatly anywhere else. Frankfurt in particular is where a lot of German digital business expects its infrastructure to sit.

We have been doing this since 2003. That is not a claim about being the largest. It is a claim about having seen a few cycles of this industry decide that hardware was solved.

What we sell, stated plainly.

One physical machine, rented by the month, with no other customer on it. Zero setup fee. Cancellation at the end of any month.

You choose the processor, the memory, the storage and the network, and the machine is yours entirely for that month. There is no hypervisor between your workload and the metal, no shared tenancy, and no instance family to reason about.

That is the whole product. The interesting part is not the specification sheet, it is that the specification stays true under load.

Finding us at DMEXCO.

Two days, three halls and a congress centre is a lot of floor. The efficient version of this is to arrange the conversation in advance.

Come with the workload. The useful discussion starts with what you are running, how constant it is, where your users sit and which jurisdictions your legal team has named. We can work backwards from that to a machine, or tell you honestly that you do not need one from us.

Frequently Asked Questions

When and where is DMEXCO 2026.

23 and 24 September 2026, at Koelnmesse, Messeplatz 1, 50679 Köln. The expo runs in halls 6 to 8 plus the Congress Centre North, with entry via Entrance South and Entrance North.

What are the DMEXCO 2026 opening hours.

Wednesday 23 September from 09:00 to 18:30, and Thursday 24 September from 09:00 to 17:30.

Do I need a ticket in advance.

Yes. DMEXCO issues digital admission tickets only. The ticket lives in the DMEXCO app, it is personalised and it is not transferable, so it has to be bought or redeemed before travelling.

What is the DMEXCO 2026 motto.

Scaling Intelligence. DMEXCO describes it as the shift from AI experimentation to real value creation.

Why would an ad tech team use bare metal instead of cloud.

Because bidding and serving workloads are constant rather than bursty, and constant workloads are the case where dedicated hardware is more consistent in behaviour. Shared hosts introduce variability from workloads you neither control nor see.

Does velia.net have infrastructure in Germany.

Yes. Frankfurt is one of six velia.net locations, alongside Strasbourg, New York, Miami, St. Louis and Singapore.

Can we meet velia.net outside DMEXCO.

Yes. The team is reachable directly, and a conversation does not require an event.

Scaling intelligence is a compute sentence with a marketing budget attached. velia.net builds the compute half, in six locations, on hardware with one name on it.
